a quick trip to meadow lane grocer
new york city's newest gourmet grocer in tribeca
Hi friend,
Hope you’re having a relaxing and reflective end of the year. There’s absolutely no rush on having all your goals (or vision boards) set out yet, but I wanted to share a few thoughts.
The desire for greater health has always been around, but there’s an even heavier focus on it at the beginning of each year, so while we savor the holiday season and prep for the start of a new chapter, please don’t forget that your health journey isn’t about perfection; it’s about feeling good, grounded, and building habits that actually support the healthier life we want to build.
Part of that, too, is becoming more aware of what’s actually in our food. With the rise of highly processed options and the conversation around today’s food epidemic, it can feel overwhelming to know where to start.
But sometimes it begins with really simple shifts: choosing ingredients you trust and paying attention to how food makes you feel.
That’s why I wanted to share one of my latest grocer finds: Meadow Lane in Tribeca.
If you’ve seen the TikTok discourse, you know there was a lot of chatter about this in the past couple of weeks (and some mixed feelings that come with launching any new business in the spotlight), but I actually ended up liking it.
The owner, Sammy Nussdorf (@brokebackcontessa), gained a massive online following by documenting Meadow Lane’s creation and has built huge anticipation leading up to its November 2025 opening in Tribeca.
For context, Meadow Lane is a gourmet prepared-food market rooted in NYC, with organic produce and fresh meals all day long.
Their pantry shelves are stocked with thoughtfully curated staples: snacks made with clean ingredients, home-worthy basics, and treats that feel indulgent but wholesome (i found my current favorite protein bar here).
On top of that: there is a cozy beverage bar offering coffee and matcha.
In the opening weeks, there were lines wrapped around the block and with that came all the usual NYC discourse. People debated the prices, the crowds, and questioned ‘Is this just another aesthetic grocery store?’
It definitely had its challenges: long waits, limited stock in the early days, and more hype than any new place (especially a grocer) could realistically sustain. But once everything settled, the experience itself felt calmer and honestly, better than I expected.
Featured Brands & Staple Items

The store is incredibly organized and easy to navigate.
Everything has its place, and you can actually find what you’re looking for without feeling overwhelmed.
I wanted to highlight a few interesting items I picked up while I was there because Meadow Lane’s curated selection is genuinely so good.
I grabbed a Jacked Granny bar (the perfect crunchy, high-protein snack), Promix coconut puff bar for easy fueling, and Poppi, because I love a prebiotic soda.
Their in-house items are just as impressive: the organic almond milk made with only almonds, maple, and Himalayan pink salt (so simple); their pink juice with watermelon, strawberries, and lime juice (summer in a bottle); and the Sun Elixir, a bright blend of butternut squash, mandarin, mango, carrot, ginger, turmeric, and a touch of salt.
Next time, I definitely want to grab their in-house PB&J overnight oats.
I’m looking forward to gradually trying and exploring some more curated brands that I haven’t discovered yet.
Prepared foods:

As for prepared foods, I went for their viral chicken tenders and honestly, I really liked them. Some people said they were mid, but to me they were flavorful, crispy, and worth trying.
I also picked up the grilled chicken for comparison. It was tender and well-seasoned, but nothing out of the ordinary, so I’d probably skip it next time.
Now, is this a place where I’d realistically do all my grocery shopping? No.
But is it a place that was fun to explore, somewhere I’d come back to for really good snacks, fresh pastries and matcha I recommend everyone try at least once? 100% yes.
additional resource:
Starting your health journey can be challenging, and if you ever need ideas on what to actually do after you buy all your holistic groceries, I want to share one of my favorite creators (and my close friend <3), Adelina.
She’s a Holistic Nutritionist who shares the most nourishing beauty recipes, hormone-balancing tips, and gut health guidance; everything designed to help you glow from the inside out.
She was truly my inspiration when I started my own health journey years ago, and I still go back to her content when I need a little motivation to take better care of my nutrition.
