you are art
depth and compassion make it to museums in areas indifference never will. sharing a list of places that prove it :)
Having depth means you notice everything. You feel things most people don’t. You think about meaning and intention when others have already moved on. And it can be really exhausting to live with that kind of sensitivity in a world that often rewards indifference.
But here’s the subtle truth: depth isn’t a curse (although at times I thought it was), it’s just more density and sometimes we’re just learning how to carry it. It’s heavy because it’s real. It’s the part of you that makes ordinary moments feel special, turns your heartbreak into deeper empathy and your creativity into something people feel rather than just observe.
Depth means you don’t skim through life, you dive and latch onto memories. You explore the hard, beautiful, complex parts that most people dismiss. And yes, sometimes that hurts. But it’s also the reason your words have gravity and your kindness shines.
So maybe it’s not that depth is a curse, maybe it’s that it’s sacred, and you just needed time to learn how to live with sacred things.
After all, museums aren’t filled with indifference, they’re filled with feeling.
Brushstrokes, stories and sculptures are all made by people who felt everything, and then stepped outside of their comfort zone to boldly share it.

and since we’re talking about museums, here are a few of my favorites and ones that are still on my bucket list (that you might like too).

the list
the MoMa — i’ve been here so many times that it holds just as many memories as the art in the museum itself. it’s a place i come back to often.
the MET — a classic, this museum has a very editorial feel to it. it’s a new york staple.
The Frick Collection — a smaller, more intimate museum.
The Museum of the Bible (Washington D.C.) — faith is a core part of my life and i wouldn’t be where i am without it. this museum is #1 on my list to visit as soon as i get the chance to.
National Museum of African American History (Washington D.C.) — another bucket list museum. to me, moving forward also means looking back at the progress we’ve made and the paths that were paved for the opportunities we have now. and i heard their food hall is full of soul food you’d want to save room for.

Being sensitive is truly a blessing and a gift from god ✨❤️
