There’s something about dessert that feels like a little act of care for yourself, for the people you love and for the moment you’re in. Whether it’s a perfect cookie after a long day or an ice cream stop that turns into an unexpected memory, these are the places that remind me how sweet life (and this city) can be.

Because sometimes, the best parts of the week aren’t the big plans or the fancy dinners; they’re the little pauses and the moments that taste like comfort.

🥐 L’Appartement 4F - Raspberry Croissant

West Village Bakery 119 West 10th Street, New York, NY 10011

L’Appartement 4F actually started as a pandemic passion project which makes me so happy. The Founders, Gautier and Ashley Coiffard are a French-American couple who began baking croissants from their tiny Brooklyn apartment (unit 4F).

In 2022, they opened their first bakery in Brooklyn Heights and today, their flaky, buttery pastries always attract so many tourists and locals. To me, it’s proof that a little dream can go a long way.

Their croissants are flaky, buttery perfection. (It’s my personal favorite).

BJ’s Restaurant - Pizookie

The Pizookie was one of my favorite comfort desserts in my early 20’s. It’s a warm, deep-dish cookie baked in a skillet and topped with melting scoops of ice cream. It’s rich, gooey, and instantly comforting, which is why it’s become one of BJ’s most loved menu items.

🍨 Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory

I actually stumbled upon Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory during a staycation. They serve classic, small-batches of ice cream that feel home-made.

The location has an old-fashioned charm with stunning waterfront views. It can easily be a nostalgic NYC favorite where people can come to enjoy simple flavors and a perfect view of the skyline.

I ordered the Vanilla Chocolate Chunk Ice Cream and it was delicious.
